Andrew Kavanagh

CEO / Founder

andrew-kavanaghAndrew began making films under the Kavaleer umbrella in 1998 and incorporated the company in 2001. His background spans fifteen years working at every level within the Irish animation sector, most recently, Andrew’s credits include writing, producing and directing several of Kavaleer’s key slate projects. In additional to his creative and development roles, he also co-manages Kavaleer’s corporate structure and direction of the company with partner Gary Timpson. Andrew’s films have been screened at hundreds of festivals worldwide and have won awards both at home \ and abroad including two IFTA nominations and four Digital Media Awards. His TV credentials include creator/executive producer credits for the internationally syndicated Garth & Bev and the forthcoming show The Draculs.

He was twice named on the ‘Forty Under 40’ list of outstanding entrepreneurs by the Sunday Tribune and Sunday Independent, counting him among “the keenest minds and shrewdest entrepreneurs on the block… the potential game-changers of the next decade.” Andrew is currently acting as series director/executive producer on Wildernuts and developing a new series, Tipto, for launch at Cartoon Forum.

Gary Timpson

Managing Director

gary-timpsonGary Timpson’s experience spans seventeen years and three continents, starting out in 1995 in Dublin’s Shepherd and Terraglyph feature Studios working as an assistant animator on three features; Carnival, Help I’m a Fish and Duck Ugly. Upon leaving Dublin in 2000 Gary’s career brought him to London where he worked for a number of production houses such as Picasso Pictures, Hibbert Ralph, Illuminated Pictures, Purdums, Sherbert and Stardust Pictures.

Leaving London in late 2001 for Sydney, Australia, Gary secured a position at Halo pictures where he worked on the hit TV series Mr Bean. In 2002 Gary ventured up the Sunshine coast to Brisbane where he was offered a supervisory position at Liquid animation working on 26 Episodes of The Proud Family and as an assistant director for the 3D segment of the hugely successful and well known series Duck Dodgers. Since joining Kavaleer in 2003, Gary has acted as an executive producer / Producer on a number of high profile projects, including ‘Lifeboat Luke’, ‘Garth & Bev’, and ‘Abadas’ and is currently working on Kavaleer’s latest preschool series, Wildernuts and Boj & Buddies which is a co-production with Pesky Animation and Bait Studios. Gary’s knowledge of the international marketplace and the demands of clients from the upper echelons of international production have led him to his present role of managing director.

Aidan McAteer

Animation Director

Aidan McAteerAidan McAteer is a classical animation graduate of Ballyfermot College of Further Education and has worked in London and Vancouver on such high profile TV shoes as Peppa Pig, My Little Pony, The Secret Show and Ben and Holly’s Little Kingdom. In 2010 he wrote and directed the short film “The Gentleman’s Guide to Villainy”, which went on to win the several awards and was screened at over 30 festivals Worldwide, the2011 Annecy International Animation Festival.At Kavaleer, Aidan has served as animation director on the pre-school show Abadas” and is currently episodic director on Kavaleer’s latest production “Wildernuts”. His next short, the IFB funded Frameworks project “Deadly” will be completed in 2014.

Jackie Leonard

Producer

Jackie LeonardAfter graduating with a degree in Arts and a Post Grad in Arts Administration Jackie began working in the film and animation industry. Starting off her career in the Galway Film Fleadh she then moved into the animation industry and has moved up to her current position as Producer over the last 14 years. She has produced many TV commercials, music videos and animated TV series. Some of her credits as Producer/ Production Manager to date include Olivia, The Academy Award® Nominated short film Granny O’Grimm, Give Up Yer Aul Sins, The Boy Who Had No Story, The Masterplan, Why and Lil Europeans.

Lindsey Adams

Producer

Lindsey AdamsLindsey Adams is a Production Manager who is currently working on Kavaleer’s series ‘Boj’ which is being produced for UK broadcaster Cbeebies and USA broadcaster PBS. Her credits include ‘Dennis the Menace and Gnasher’, the Emmy-nominated series ‘Ask Lara’ and ‘Marvo the Wonder Chicken’. Previous to joining the team at Kavaleer, Lindsey worked for awarding-winning production studio Red Kite Animation, based in Edinburgh and prior to that she worked for DC Thomson, a long established publishing company that owns IP for many of the UK’s most beloved brands such as ‘Desperate Dan’, ‘Bananaman’ and ‘Minnie the Minx’. She has experience managing productions animated in Cel Action, Flash, Anime Studio Pro and Toonboom. Lindsey studied Computer Animation at the University of Teesside and was Chair for the Scottish Animation Network in 2012.

Graham Corcoran

Art Director

Graham CorcoranGraham studied animation at Ballyfermot college from 1998-2001. Specializing in the areas of Illustration and concept design, Graham has worked for clients such as Harcourt Brace, American Greetings, Kelloggs and Enlight Software. His artwork has been featured in artbooks such as ‘Eyecandy From Strangers Volumes 1 and 2’, ‘Popgun’, ‘Mail Me Art: Going Postal with the World’s Best Illustrators’ and ‘The Big Book of Contemporary Illustration’. Graham joined Kavaleer Productions in 2006 and has been Art Director on ‘Garth & Bev’, Various commercial projects & pitches as well as numerous interactive projects for clients such as Sesame Workshop and Playfirst. Most recently Graham art directed Kavaleer’s new series ‘Wildernuts’ and ‘Tipto’.
