We’re excited and delighted that Kavaleer Productions latest short film, ‘Deadly’, picked up the Best Animated Short Film award at the first Irish Animation Awards and in the face of some very stiff competition.
Director, Aidan McAteer and Kavaleer MD Gary Timpson, took to the stage to receive the wonderful award (designed by Eimhin McNamara) from CBBC’s Head of Acquisitions and Drama Development, Sarah Muller.
The Irish Animation awards took place on Friday 13th March at the Dingle Skelligs Hotel in Dingle. It was Animation Irelands’ inaugural awards ceremony to acknowledge and celebrate the outstanding creative talent we have within the Irish Animation, VFX and gaming industries.
Deadly tells the story of Boney, a working stiff in a dead-end job, that is until he meets a spirited old lady named Bridie. Directed by Aidan McAteer and produced by Shannon George under the IFB’s Frameworks scheme, the short features the voice talents of Brenda Fricker and Peter Coonan and is currently playing at festivals around the world.
