STORYBOARD ARTISTS

Kavaleer Productions are looking for STORYBOARD ARTISTS. The candidates need to be experienced board artists with professional experience on an animation production. This role is only available to candidates based in the Republic of Ireland or willing to relocate. This is a remote position and not in house. Successful candidates will be given a test. Candidates must make available 2 days to complete and return the test.

Positions start October 2018

 

 

ANIMATION DIRECTOR (FLASH/ANIMATE CC)

Kavaleer Productions are looking for an ANIMATION DIRECTOR. The candidate needs to be an experienced Flash user with at least 3 years’ professional experience in a directing role on a series. This role is only available to candidates that can work in-house at our studio in Dublin.

Permanent Role with 6 months’ probation period for successful candidates, starting February 2019

JOB TITLE Animation Director – 2D
REPORTING TO Director
ROLE REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS –          The position of Animation Director requires someone with a thorough working knowledge of Flash and experience in a similar directing role on broadcast animation projects, looking to take on a new challenge.

–          Candidates must be able to work both in a team and on their own in a fast paced and creative environment. The successful candidate must have not only a strong animation artistic flair and solid animation skills, but also must be able to motivate and work with animators in a collaborative and creative environment. Strong communication skills and attention to detail a must.

–          Work closely with the director to keep to the high standard of animation for broadcast.

–          Must communicate well and be able to motivate crew with good team management skills.

–          Responsible for establishing key character animation with the Director and Lead Animators to ensure the high standard of animation is maintained throughout the production.

–          Review animation passes from the animation teams and write notes and responses to push animation to the desired standard.

–          Approve character poses, backgrounds, props and scene layouts. Work closely with an external Director to understand the overall storytelling and humour of the show.

–          Work closely with the animation teams to improve each delivery and in turn reduce retakes as production proceeds.

–          Active in flagging potential issues to the Director related to animation and proposing solutions. Mentor less experienced artists, providing them with support, guidance and instruction. Providing feedback to team leads on animation work before review by the Director.

–          Minimum of 3 years’ experience in directing 2D animation for long form animation productions.

–          Must have 2D animation experience.

–          Clear communication skills.

–          Must be very detailed oriented and organised. Must be passionate about character animation and acting.

–          Strong familiarity with Flash/Animate CC.

–          Possess skills managing a team, effective communication.

–          Able to take feedback and direction.

–          Effective time management and ability to work within tight deadlines.

 

 

LEAD 2D ANIMATORS (FLASH/ANIMATE CC)

Kavaleer Productions are looking for LEAD 2D ANIMATORS. Leads need to be experienced Flash users with at least 3 years professional series experience for this role. This role is only available to candidates that can work in-house at our studio in Dublin.

JOB TITLE Lead Animator – 2D
REPORTING TO Animation Director
ROLE REQUIREMENTS

AND SKILLS

–          The position of Lead Animator requires someone with a thorough working knowledge of Flash and ideally experience in a similar supervisory role on broadcast animation projects.

–          The role requires strong animation skills, with the ability to tackle complex scenes, strong communication skills and attention to detail.

–          Work closely with the animation director to create a high standard of animation for broadcast.

–          Must communicate well and be willing to take notes and direction, under tight deadlines.

–          Active in flagging potential issues related to animation and proposing solutions.

–          Mentor less experienced artists, while providing them with support, guidance and instruction.

–          Team management including allocating scenes across the team and maintaining an accurate record of the team’s frame count.

–          Providing feedback to the team on animation work before review by the animation director.

–          Ideally at least 3 years’ experience as a lead animator.

–          Strong familiarity with Flash/Animate CC.

–          Possess skills managing a team, effective communication.

–          Excellent attention to detail.

–          Able to take feedback and direction.

–          Effective time management and ability to work within tight deadlines.

 

 

2D ANIMATORS (FLASH/ANIMATE CC)

Kavaleer Productions are looking for 2D ANIMATORS. We are looking for animators comfortable using Flash/Animate CC and with at least 3 years professional series experience for this role. This role is only available to candidates working in the Republic of Ireland, candidates that can work in-house at our studio in Dublin are strongly preferred.

–          The 2D Animator will deliver broadcast quality animation under the direction of their team lead and the animation director.

–          Work closely with lead animator and animation director to create high standard of animation for broadcast.

–          Must communicate well and be willing to take notes and direction, under tight deadlines.

–          Able to animate well in the style of the show and work to production deadlines.

–          Knowledge of Flash/Animate CC is a must.

–          At least 3 years’ experience working as a flash animator.

–          Ability to work within a team.

–          Ability to take feedback and direction.

–          Able to manage own time and meet deadlines effectively, utilising production tracking documents to record progress.

–          Excellent attention to detail.

 

 

2D FX ANIMATOR (FLASH/ANIMATE CC)

Kavaleer Productions are looking for 2D FX ANIMATOR. We are looking for animators comfortable using Flash/Animate CC and with at least 3 years professional series experience for this role. This role is only available to candidates working in the Republic of Ireland, candidates that can work in-house at our studio in Dublin are strongly preferred.

–          The 2D FX Animator will deliver broadcast quality animation under the direction of their team lead and the animation director, incorporating notes and feedback effectively.

–          Work closely with Lead Animators and Animation Director to create high standard of animation for broadcast.

–          Must communicate well and be willing to take notes and direction, under tight deadlines

–          Able to animate well in style of show and to production deadlines.

–          Knowledge of Flash/Animate CC is a must.

–          At least 3 years’ experience working as a Flash animator/FX animator.

–          Ability to work within a team.

–          Ability to take feedback and direction.

–          Able to manage own time and meet deadlines effectively, utilising production tracking documents to record progress.

–          Excellent attention to detail.

 

 

LAYOUT ARTISTS

 

JOB TITLE Layout Artist – 2D
REPORTING TO Animation Director
ROLE REQUIREMENTS

AND SKILLS

–          The position of Layout Artist requires someone with design and drawing ability and a strong attention to detail.

–          The role is a mixture of scene prep, rigging and possible design work.

–          Experience with either 2D digital rigging or 2D scene prep is essential.

–          A solid working knowledge of Flash/Animate CC and Photoshop is essential.

–          Knowledge of compositing is a huge plus.

–          Work closely with animation director on all tasks.

–          Must communicate well and be able to take direction.

–          Use Flash/Animate CC and Photoshop to help create rigs and put together layouts ready for animation.

–          Able to manage time well and work to tight deadlines.

–          Manage asset and layout library and maintain tracking documents of progress for use throughout production.

–          Experience using Flash/Animate CC to create rigs and/or layout scenes ready for animation.

–          Knowledge of rigging for a 2D pipeline program and understanding of animation.

–          Strong familiarity with using Flash/Animate CC and Photoshop to create digital art.

–          Good draughtsperson with design ability.

–          An understanding of visual storytelling for layout and composition.

–          Strong attention to detail and continuity.

–          Able to take feedback and direction.

–          Good communication skills.

–          Ability to work to deadlines, managing time to prioritise effectively.
