STORYBOARD ARTISTS

Kavaleer Productions are looking for STORYBOARD ARTISTS. The candidates need to be experienced board artists with professional experience on an animation production. This role is only available to candidates based in the Republic of Ireland or willing to relocate. This is a remote position and not in house. Successful candidates will be given a test. Candidates must make available 2 days to complete and return the test.

TRAINEE (FLASH/ANIMATE CC)

Kavaleer Productions are looking for a TRAINEE. The candidate needs to be motivated to learn and have a keen interest in animation. This role is only available to candidates that can work in-house at our studio in Dublin. This position would suit someone looking to gain experience in a studio with an interest in rigging or scene prep. You will be training under our character build and rigger and will learn how to take designs of characters and props into Animate CC/Flash, build and rig them ready for scene prep and animation. You will also learn to take material and set up scenes for animation with our Scene Prep artist, transferring between Build and Rig and Scene Prep when needed. The position will be for a minimum of 20 weeks and starts in March 2019.

JOB TITLE TRAINEE FOR CHARACTER BUILDER AND SCENE PREP – 2D
REPORTING TO CHARACTER BUILDER AND SCENE PREP ARTISTS
SUMMARY OF THE ROLE The position of trainee for character build and rig and scene prep, requires someone with a strong design and drawing ability and attention to detail. The role is to assist and learn how to take designs provided and build and rig in Animate CC/Flash, also to assist and learn how to take material provided and set up scenes ready for animation. Transferring between build and rig and scene prep departments when needed. A solid working knowledge of Flash/Animate CC is a bonus but not essential. Knowledge of Photoshop is a plus.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES Work closely with the character build and rigger and scene prep artist on all tasks. Must communicate well, be able to take direction and follow notes. Use Flash/Animate CC to assist the character build and rigger and the scene prep artist. Able to manage time well and work to deadlines. Maintain tracking documents of progress for use throughout production.
SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES NEEDED TO PERFORM ROLE EFFECTIVELY Ideally – experience of a 2D animation pipeline. Familiarity with using Flash/Animate CC to create digital art.

Good draughtsperson with design ability. An understanding of visual storytelling for layout and composition. Strong attention to detail and continuity. Able to take feedback and direction. Good communication skills. Ability to work to deadlines, managing time to prioritise effectively.
