Tim Burton's 'Alice in Wonderland'

23 July

The trailer for Tim Burton’s remake of Alice in Wonderland is up on YouTube. Burton stalwart Johnny Depp stars as the Mad Hatter (looking like a cross between Willy Wonka and Vivienne Westwood) and his muse Helena Bonham Carter appears as the Red Queen. The trailer looks like it might be interesting, the material is certainly apt raw material for this director’s imagination. But it does look like very little new has been added and I can’t help wondering if this will follow in the footsteps of the less than brilliant ‘Sweeney Todd’. Depp’s accent seems to hover somewhere between Cap’n Jack Sparrow and the Demon Barber of Fleet Street, and one wonders if the characterization will be a similar rehash. But there does  appear to me some inspired casting in the supporting roles. Matt Lucas as Tweedledum and Tweedledee is perfect, Stephen Fry as the Chesire Cat will be wonderfully quirky and the talented Michael Sheen will do a turn as the White Rabbit. The very much underused and perpetually fascinating Crispin Glover (George McFly to those of us old enough to remember), also shows up as the Knave of Hearts. For my money Jan Svankmajer’s ‘Alice’ (1988) is the definitive work, wonderfully odd, creepy and loaded with visual metaphor. Laser may be your only option for renting it, but track it down if you can!

Alice in Wonderland

Medication errors can happen anywhere, but mistakes in dispensing medications injure thousands of people in the United States. For instance Antabuse is used in distinct men with chronic alcoholism. Creates an nasty reaction when drinking alcohol, which reduces the wish to drink. Today twelve percent of men aged 40 to 70 were have trouble keeping an erection during sex. It affects men in all parts of the world. Below are ten things to keep in mind about “sildenafil 20 mg“. Today many men search online for the exact keyword “sildenafil citrate” on Google. Other problem we must is “sildenafil generic“. Present for men of any age, it can be an early warning symptom for severe illnesses, so it’s essential for your overall health, not just your sexual relationship, to see a health care purveyor if you experience erection difficulties. If you are going to take the Viagra, tell your physician if you have problems with your blood cells such as multiple myeloma. Not to mention, if you have any questions about the problem ask your druggist.

Yes the trailer doesn’t look like anything spectacular. I can’t remember the last time I was blown away by a Burton film. Very disappointed in recent years. But I’ll still go see this. I am Johnny Depp’s number 1 fan!!
